Our Story: Texas Electric Bid has expertise in electricity and natural gas in Texas (Natural gas is the key component of what drives electric prices in Texas.) At the historical height of Natural Gas Prices we received a flurry of calls from Electric Companies who wanted us to lock into Two year fixed prices. However, we already could see Natural gas prices were coming down.
These electric companies had information that most consumers did not have. These electric companies knew prices were coming down yet they did not have the customers best interest in mind. We decided to change that.
Texas Electric Bid desires homeowners, business, churches and charities to achieve as competitive but financially secure electric rates as possible . Therefore we believe the following:
- The Preferred Electric Providers we have chosen to work with are customer driven and their electric supplies are financially stable.
- Information is key. We want the consumer to make wise choices so they need the best information possible.
- Supporting local business and charities keeps our local economy stronger. Therefore our Preferred Electric Providers and Charities are all local.
- Texas Electric Bid believes we should go the 2nd Mile for our community first and be Excellent Stewards of our environment.
Current Term: We recommend a current one year term to get
through the Summer of 2008 and the next hurricane season. So far the winter has
been colder then normal and has kept natural gas pricing stronger
than expected. If the Summer is warmer then normal (last June and July were
milder then normal) then natural gas prices will remain strong keeping electric prices higher. Once we
get into summer, we may recommend longer than 12 months to get price
protection through Summer 2008 and 2009.
